An Even Start - National Tuition Program is currently in its final stages and will be concluding at the end of April 2009. Tutors must have all data recorded on the NTMS by close of business on May 15th 2009.  No further claims for reimbursement or data entry can be accepted after May 15 as the funds for the program are being withdrawn after that date.

Welcome to the Private Tuition website for An Even Start – National Tuition Program.

An Even Start – National Tuition Program is an Australian Government initiative aimed at improving the literacy and numeracy skills of school students.

An Even Start provides tuition for literacy or numeracy to the value of $700 per child to students who did not meet one of the national literacy or numeracy benchmarks in 2007 for years 3, 5 or 7. Students in these years (or age equivalent) who were formally exempted from the 2007 benchmark tests will also be eligible to receive assistance.

Parents have the option of choosing school-based tuition provided through their child’s school or tuition by a private, non-school based provider, such as a tuition company or private tutor.

Our role, as Private Tuition Coordinator contracted by the Australian Government, is to manage the delivery of tuition conducted by private providers.
